Baze University Profile

Baze University is a prestigious university accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) of Nigeria. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in its faculties. 

The University was founded by Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, a Nigerian economist and politician whose vision was to create a university that stands out from the 'appalling' state the Nigerian educational system seems to be in. 

The university is located in Abuja, in the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria and it offers academic programs in six faculties which include three foundational faculties: faculty of Engineering, Basic Medical, and Environmental sciences. There are several specialties within these faculties.

Baze University currently ranks 96th amongst 174 top universities in the country.

Quality Facilities 

Baze University uses state-of-the-art facilities. It has top-notch equipment, foreign and local staff as well as sophisticated buildings for its faculties and departments. The University has also established itself as a prestigious academic institution that provides British standard education in Nigeria and it is renowned for the number of first-class graduates it has produced and is still producing.

According to its administration, Baze University bridges the gap between premium education and parents who want their children to have a foreign standard university education without leaving the country.

Strategic Partnership and Alliance.

In 2019, Baze University entered into a partnership with 4REN Energy International Ltd. 4REN Energy is a Canadian consortium that partners with domestic markets in the production of renewable energy. The partnership is expected to produce reliable and stable electricity that is affordable which boosts learning, research, and teaching at the University.  

This partnership is expected to generate 6.0 MW of Solar PV Energy that will be decentralized on campus and stored in backup systems. It is also expected to be implemented in phases; one rooftop at a time for larger buildings and cluster implementation for smaller buildings. 

Baze University also established a partnership with the Network of University Legal Aid Institutions (NULAI) Nigeria and representatives of New Rule Partners Global USA. 

Recently, representatives of NULAI visited to discuss a partnership with Baze Law Clinic. The visit was made to reform Kuje prisons by reducing the number of prisoners awaiting trials. 

Currently,  Baze University has over 400 students. Its motto "Learn to live" utilizes cutting-edge ICT capabilities to make learning both interesting and rewarding.
